Founded in 2004, The Sustainable Media Network provides integrated communication and marketing services for sustainably oriented companies, connecting businesses with potential customers and informing the public through promotional and educational media.
The Sustainable Media Network is based in Denver, Colorado. The company's principal is founder Dave Bowden, President/Executive Producer. Network Associates include Richard Eidlin, renewable energy consultant, (bio below) and Mark Robinson of TheEnergyGrid.com. We also reach out to a long list of other top level individuals for specific assistance, depending on the project.
Dave Bowden has been a TV producer, writer, cameraman, and editor on a wide range of news and documentary programs since 1980. His credits include 4 years on the staff of PBS' MacNeil / Lehrer NewsHour covering major national and international news stories, PBS Frontline, New York Times Television, and HBO documentaries. He was selected as a Knight International Press Fellow in 1998, has been employed by 3 CBS affiliates, and is a regular contributor to network television.
In the past 2 decades years Dave has focused on science, health, and environmental topics. He directed a documentary about Greenpeace USA's 3 month journey down the Mississippi River highlighting water quality and public health issues, and more recently has photographed projects in Haiti, Israel, Rwanda, Ethiopia, and Malawi for Little Voice Productions.
Dave is the founder of the Sustainable Media Network, and has been actively engaged in sustainability issues since 1997, joining the Colorado Renewable Energy Society (CRES), in 1999. He served on its Board for 4 years and led the group as its President in 2004. That year, as a member of the statewide committee that won Amendment 37, America's first direct vote on renewable energy, Dave worked on voter education and fundraising efforts. In June 2004 he wrote a 700 word editorial "Get Real on Energy", published in the Denver Post, and was repeatedly interviewed and quoted in statewide newspapers, radio, & TV stations about clean energy topics. His video work that year included producing and writing a nationally broadcast 30 min. show "The Power of Tomorrow" about renewable energy, and his video footage was integral to A-37's campaign commercials. In recent years, he has made substantial contributions to the writing, design, & photography of CRES' website.
Bowden holds degrees in Fine Arts from the Bournemouth and Poole College of Art in Bournemouth, England, and the Minneapolis College of Art and Design. His broadcasting work has received numerous national awards.

Richard Eidlin
has over sixteen years of business development, strategic planning,
sales and advocacy experience in the renewable energy industry. During
that time, he has been a leader in helping to mainstream photovoltaics
and in promoting legislative and regulatory policies that have
developed new markets.
Richard recently served on the energy advisory transition
team for newly-elected Colorado Governor Bill Ritter, and currently
serves as the Business Outreach Coordinator for the Apollo Alliance, a
national coalition of business, labor, environmental and civil rights
groups committed to increasing American energy independence and
creating good jobs. Prior to joining the Apollo Alliance in 2005, he
directed marketing and sales efforts at several key national PV systems
integration firms; including Colorado-based Altair Energy (now Alpha
Energy) and Vermont based Solar Works. There, Richard served as the
Business Development Director and Marketing Coordinator, responsible
for establishing partnerships with architects, contractors,
environmental groups, unions and developers.
As a staff member at the UN Environment
Programme in the early 1990s, Richard directed a series of conferences
on renewable energy and sustainable development, and attended the 1992
Earth Summit in Rio de Janeiro. He has worked for the NYC government as
a senior policy analyst, consulted to various national environmental
organizations, as well as CH2Mhill, and the World Bank. For five years,
Richard's public policy background proved valuable as an adjunct
faculty member with Boston College's Center for Corporate Community
Relations.
Eidlin has a Masters in Public Policy and Administration
from the University of Wisconsin. He is a Board member of CORE and a
political consultant on the link between renewable energy and job
creation.
